Thanks for this post. It helped me to count all my .mp3 songs on drive M:
I used this:
dir /s “M:\*.mp3″ |find /c /v “”
Of course this doesn’t count .flac and other audio formats – but for me that’s OK cause I always make .mp3 copies as well. This way I know how many different (unique) tunes I have in my libraries. [It also doesn't count directories, "..", ".", etc., or .txt, playlists, etc.]

The above command is also adding the ‘.’ and ‘..’ directories.

How to avoid that ?

i share your opinion – not only has spotify become laggy as hell, but the new contract specifies that you can only listen to 10 hours of music per month – and each track only 5 times EVER

Apologies for the bug and thanks for the heads-up. I’ve now fixed the script to accommodate gamertags that include whitespace.

We7 is slow and jumbled. Searched for Peter Gabriel (one of the owners and the only reason I tried We7) and the search came back with 10 gabriel artist entries. The only track I wanted to listen to from his first album was a preview only.

Comparing this to Spotify is a joke. We7 looks like a badly designed version of Emusic, not the fairly streamlined and organized app that Spotify is.
